Restaurants We Love
A restaurant where you eat on a bed? Hey, Carrie and Miranda were
into it. And who wouldn't want to dine in a place made out of ice
(or at least talk about it afterward)? We've scoured the globe for
the hippest, the weirdest, and the just-plain most delicious. Here's
what we found.
THE UN-HAMPTONS
The North Fork of Long Island has its fair share of weekenders from
New York, but it's still the country bumpkin to its cousin across
the bay — the South Fork, better known as the Hamptons. That's
why The Frisky Oyster, in Greenport, comes as such a shock. With its
red fabric-covered walls, the narrow dining room says pure Manhattan.
More importantly, so does the food. Settle in for local corn soup
with red pepper purée, goat cheese and leek tart, and bacon-wrapped
beef filet with Gorgonzola — just don't expect oysters. 27 Front
St. (631-477-4265).
